Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament & Devotions
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
“Adoration” is a general term that refers to the highest expression of reverence and worship reserved for God alone. We can offer adoration to Christ present in the Blessed Sacrament “reserved” in the tabernacle or “exposed” in a ciborium or in a monstrance. At St. Luke, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament “exposed” in a monstrance occurs every Monday to Friday. (except for Public Holidays)
Monthly Devotions
At St. Luke's Parish, we have three monthly devotions which includes Adoration.
Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (First Friday of every month)
Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary (First Saturday of every month)
Devotion to the Holy Trinity (Third Saturday of every month)
Reasons to Participate in the Eucharistic Devotion
“The Church and the whole world have a great need for Eucharistic worship. Jesus awaits us in this sacrament of love. Let us not refuse the time to go to meet Him in adoration, in contemplation full of faith, and open to making amends for the serious offenses and crimes of the world. Let our adoration never cease.”
– John Paul II, Dominicae Cenae, 3
