Pastoral Care
The Ministry of Pastoral Care provides spiritual and religious support to parishioners who are lonely, sick, shut-in, elderly, dying or grieving.
Volunteers on the Pastoral Care team include:
1. Eucharistic Ministers: who bring the Spirit of God and the concern of St Luke’s faith community by sharing the Eucharist and praying with those members of our parish who are sick, homebound, in a long care facility, or dying.
2. Hospital Volunteers: they visit patients in the Foothills Hospital, bringing the Eucharist to those who desire to receive and assisting those patients who are able to attend Mass. Volunteers also visit the Fanning Center and Edgemont Seniors Residence.
4. World Day of the Sick: a special Mass is celebrated annually in February during which the sick and the elderly are invited to receive the Sacrament of the Sick. The Pastoral care team assists those parishioners who are not able to come on their own. A luncheon for our guests follows Mass.
If you or some one dear to you is in need of the anointing of the sick prior to surgery or a hospital stay, or if you know of anyone who is sick or homebound and is in need of Pastoral Care please contact the church office 403-282-9488
We invite all parishioners who would like to participate as a volunteer to contact Fr. Fernando at 403.282.9488 and learn how you can become a part of this rewarding Ministry.
