St. Luke's Charismatic Prayer Group

 
St. Luke’s Prayer Group is a branch of the Calgary Catholic Charismatic Renewal Society (CCCRS). The CCCRS is connected to the Alberta Renewal Society, which is connected through service committees to the International Office of the Renewal in Rome. The International Office is in liaison with and in obedience to the Pope.
St. Luke’s Charismatic Prayer Group was formed in 1975. It meets every Thursday at 6:30 PM to Pray the Holy Rosary, then join the regular 7:00 PM Mass followed by Praise and Worship, talk, and intersessions. All are welcome to join.
The purpose of our coming together is to pray, to thank God for the gift of salvation won for us by Jesus, to encourage each other to grow in commitment and service to Christ and his body, the Church, and to seek and recognize the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. Prayer meetings, therefore, center on Jesus as savior, redeemer, healer, the way, the truth and the light, on unity as “where 2 or 3 gather in my name, there am I in their midst”, and on Holy Spirit as gift giver of prophesy, of tongues, of interpretation and of praise.
In listening to God’s Word, we are called to repentance, to a change of heart, attitude, mind, to greater faithfulness, to prayer, to works of mercy, to a growing awareness of God’s love for us.
